It seems the rate I’m writing these at has slowed down somewhat. I suppose my text posts do get a bit repetitive, I tend to talk about similar stuff, I don’t always have much to say…
But, might as well talk about some more thoughts.
Steam Controller
It’s finally here!
Worth the wait

Arrived a couple days ago, so I haven’t had too long to try it. So far though, it’s pretty much everything I had hoped for. Steam Deck style controls that I can use for my PC.
One thing that looked a bit strange about it in reviews was the placement of the back grip buttons.

A few people mentioned they were in a weird spot, but they feel surprisingly similar to use to Steam Deck’s grip buttons. I can pretty comfortably use all four with my middle and ring fingers with the way I hold the controller. Some people mentioned using the pinky finger to reach the bottom buttons? I’d have to hold it in a weird grip to do that.
I still need to play a bunch more games, but it’s working great so far. It’s even quite comfortable for just navigating my desktop. When I wanna sit back and watch youtube or browse stuff, I can use the touchpads / stick and steam’s virtual keybaord without needing to reach for my actual keyboard and mouse.
The charging puck is also a really cool idea. It works as a wireless receiver so you get a pretty decent signal with it on the desk. But the way it charges is nice since when I’m done using the controller, I just place it on my desk roughly over the puck. The magnet is strong enough that it just jumps up from my desk and snaps to the back of the controller to charge it. No need to plug in a cable, even more convenient than any kind of charging cradle, just place it on my desk and — snap — it’s charging.
Also, it makes a Wilhelm scream sometimes when you drop it… (I tested it myself, it’s true!)
Hmm, maybe I’ll make a longer thought page just dedicated to the Steam Controller after using it a while longer.
Shows
Still watching through the Nier: Automata anime, will probably finish it soon. I love the outro for the second half…
Also still trying to watch through Lain. Just watched episode 5. I dunno, it’s interesting but also quite confusing to keep up with at the moment. I do want to finish it, it’s not a long show.

Also watching Witch Hat Atelier every Monday. I love the magic system in that show. I like when magic is like an actual system that allows for the creation of spells. It’s like programming in a way. Works great for magic in games, I’d be curious to see a mod for something which uses WHA’s magic system.
I use Popfeed to log stuff I watch. Annoyingly, Witch Hat Atelier just has wrong release dates on there, meaning I can’t log them whenever I watch each episode. Really sucks, I hope stuff like that gets fixed cause I want to use ATProto apps but it doesn’t help when most of them are this buggy.
Gaming
Nothing too new here. Still hopping on VRChat like usual. Still playing through Nier: Automata. Though it’s nice to use the Steam Controller with them now.
I’m still playing Tomodachi Life. I’m slowly starting to get bored of it as it’s getting a bit repetitive, but here’s the latest:

Giving Ryan Gosling a white Monster

The roster so far
aaaand that’s all for now
That’s all I have time to write for today.
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
